My Healing Journey

Unconditional Love
 
I was thinking about my parents this morning and of their unconditional love for me. If there ever was a son who tried and tested his parents 'last' nerve, that would definitely be me. Boy, do I have some stories. Many of them I don't think I can actually publish, but I have a few that I can. Here is an example.
 

Most people think the dividing line between Old and New Testament is when the Gospels start in chapter One. Jesus was born under the Law (Old Covenant) and kept it perfectly without fail even in the slightest way. The New Covenant did not start until after the Cross where Jesus finished the work He came to accomplish. When He said, "It is finished!", the veil in the Temple that separated God from man was torn in two. Mankind who was separated from God because of the Law of Moses was now able to approach God through Faith.

Do you not find it odd that the most brutal instrument of death known to man has become very fashionable? Why don’t people wear little guillotines or slip knots around their necks as they do crosses? The answer is because Jesus Christ, the Son of God Incarnate, died on one. This is the reason the cross is so prevalent and has not faded into history. It’s like the story of the caterpillar going into its cocoon (grave) and emerging as a butterfly (resurrection), never again to be bound by this earth.

Today as I headed out to Cedar Hill State Park to ride, I could not wait to get on the trail. Of course last time I was out there I ran over a snake and most people that know me know that I am extremely afraid of snakes. No, I don’t care what kind they are! That thought was in the back of my mind as I started on the trail and I kept having to push out visions of snakes chasing me through the woods (crazy I know but who says fear is rational). Anyway, I headed out and when I came to the split that determines whether you do the 8 mile loop or the 12 mile loop, I started on the 8 mile loop.

Lately this topic has really bugged me. Of course the power of God is in us, isn’t that why He died on the cross for us and then sent the Holy Spirit?!?! God even says that He that is within us is greater than ANYTHING outside of us (1 John 4:4). So… WHY is it that so many people want to win the God Lottery by continually asking God for things He said He has already given us? Do we forget that when we have the Holy Spirit within us, we have peace, wisdom, prosperity, etc? I know I forget.

Hi everyone, this is Michelle Broussard and I just wanted to update everyone on our recent move. David and I moved to a warehouse in the Design District in which we are both living and working.
